Customer Success Story: itesys & Vamoz
How itesys introduced workations as a benefit
itesys AG, an international SAP service provider with more than 200 employees, wanted to strategically develop remote work after the pandemic and become an even more attractive employer. The vision: introducing Workation - remote work from abroad.
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Destinations reached | Employees used Workation in 10+ countries. |
| HR relief | 95% less manual HR effort through automated compliance checks. |
| Employer branding | itesys mentions Workation and Remote Work with Vamoz in 60-70% of recruiting processes. |
The starting point: a strategic impulse and a growing trend
The first spark came from a leadership strategy workshop. Using the Crazy 8 method, the team collected ideas on how itesys could become an even more attractive employer. One idea stood out: an itesys villa in the south where employees could work and live.
For practical reasons, that idea evolved into the concept of Workation. At the same time, the labor market was moving clearly in the same direction: employees increasingly wanted flexibility, location independence, and more international ways of working.
We were on the right wave at the right time. After the pandemic, the need for more flexibility was clearly noticeable.

But implementation turned out to be more complex than expected.
The challenge: international laws, security, and clear rules
At first, the HR team wanted to manage Workation internally. It quickly became clear that the variety of legal requirements - depending on country, activity, duration of stay, and security-critical IT systems - made the project very demanding.
The central challenges were:
- Different legal requirements in every country
- IT security requirements in sensitive SAP environments
- Clear rules for managers and employees
- Transparent approval processes
- Avoiding administrative overload for HR
Internal research made one thing clear: itesys needed a reliable, simple, and scalable solution.
The path to Vamoz: usability and legal clarity
While searching for a suitable platform, Nadja and Laura came across Vamoz. One decisive factor was surprisingly simple and very typical for modern SaaS decisions:
Your online presence immediately spoke to us. We could tell that you had really thought things through - clear, modern, structured. That convinced us to get in touch.

What convinced itesys most:

- Automated compliance support for each country
- A clear overview of all cases and deadlines
- Fast approval processes
- Minimal administrative effort
It is really simple - for employees and for us. We have full transparency, it is fast, and we simply feel secure.

The rollout: a manifesto instead of a rulebook
Instead of a dry policy, itesys developed a culturally fitting approach together with Vamoz: a manifesto instead of a rulebook.
The aim was not to create a bureaucratic document, but an inspiring guide for modern collaboration. The HR team also organized an interactive info session, including a live demonstration of a real Workation process in the tool.
The result was enthusiasm.
Right after the introduction, many employees registered - even without booking immediately. You could simply feel that the interest was huge.

Convincing leaders before the rollout
A critical success factor was involving management and all leaders early. Their questions and concerns could be addressed in advance, especially around productivity, customer availability, expectation management, security, and data protection.
The Vamoz manifesto and clear framework helped build trust.
In the end, it works like home office: we trust our people. And collaboration works extremely well.

Workation is now a recruiting highlight. The benefit is highly visible on the careers page, candidates actively bring it up, and itesys is perceived as a modern employer.
3. Employee satisfaction and retention
Usage confirms it: employees value the benefit, especially power users like Nadja herself, who has already worked from Croatia and Portugal.
4. Stronger culture
Transparent rules, trust, and flexibility strengthen a work culture that fits itesys perfectly.
Outlook: more automation and a shared journey
Both sides are looking forward to a long-term collaboration. Vamoz continues to develop new features that further relieve HR teams and give companies more security and flexibility.
